A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for Monday evening through Tuesday morning for the first episode of dangerously cold wind chills.
If the cold this weekend isn't enough of a reminder that it is winter, snow is also in the Metro Detroit weather forecast.
Peak snowfall will be Sunday afternoon toward dinnertime, particularly from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. The main snow will then start to move out with lake effect snow showers lingering near the Lake Huron shoreline. The intensity of lake effect snow will be lessened thanks to the amount of ice currently on the Great Lakes.
Detroit's weather forecast predicts a mix of rain, snow, wind, and fluctuating temperatures in the coming week.
