Syracuse, N.Y. —Bob Costas is back in baseball. Costas who spent nearly four decades with NBC, is returning as the host of the Sunday Night Baseball pregame show leading into games on NBC (and simulstreamed on Peacock).

Sunday night’s Ravens-Steelers thriller averaged 25.5 million viewers, peaking at 27.5 million in the second quarter (9:15-9:30 p.m. ET), before climbing back up to an average of 26.1 million viewers for the game’s closing minutes (11:30-11:35 p.m. ET).

NBC will follow Super Bowl LX with immediate Winter Olympics coverage, airing Primetime in Milan around 10:45pm ET featuring women’s downhill and team figure skating, prioritizing sports-to-sports lead-out over launching an entertainment show.

The Pittsburgh Pirates and the New York Mets are set to play against each other opening day at Citi Field. They are going to be a part of a Primetime Opening Day doubleheader on March 26 on NBC and Peacock. This marks the network’s return to Major League Baseball, as the Mets will host the Pirates at 1 p.m. ET.
