Two cross-country storms are expected to bring rain to millions across more than 30 states beginning Thursday, packing a severe weather threat for the Deep South and the potential for snow from the higher elevations of the Four Corners through the Central Plains and Upper Midwest.
We’ll start our Friday with a couple of showers and storms, but rain will get more widespread late in the afternoon and through the overnight hours. Regardless of any severe weather threat, at times the rain will be steady and heavy, especially along and south of I-40, and could cause ponding and even minor flooding in poor drainage areas.
