Two wind farms backed by BP are at risk of being scrapped after failing to land government contracts in Ed Miliband’s latest round of renewables subsidies.

A federal judge ruled Friday that work on a Virginia offshore wind project could resume, the third project this week to successfully challenge the Trump administration in court.

The government has awarded offshore wind farm contracts, which could power 12 million homes, in a record-breaking auction that marks a stepping stone in its goal to create a clean electricity system by 2030.
