CHANHASSEN, Minn. — The National Weather Service has issued an extreme cold warning for much of central Minnesota and portions of western Wisconsin for Thursday night and Friday morning as brutally cold wind chills are expected in the region.
The National Weather Service issued the watch Wednesday afternoon for a the storm that’s expected to arrive this weekend, according to NWS Meteorologist Joe Curtis. “There’s increasing potential for a significant winter storm this weekend,” Curtis told MetroNews. The watch is for Saturday morning through Monday morning.
The Extreme Cold Warning runs from 8 p.m. Thursday to 11 a.m. Saturday.
A cold weather advisory for Lancaster County will go into effect Friday night as temperatures are expected to stay below 25 degrees through mid-week next week.
There is a high chance for wintry precipitation.
The NWS Wilmington NC issued a freezing fog advisory at 12:22 a.m. on Monday valid between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. for Robeson County.
A report was issued from the NWS Wakefield VA on Sunday at 8:24 p.m. for black ice until Monday at 9 a.m. The alert is for Western Currituck as well as Northampton, Hertford, Gates, Pasquotank, Camden,
