Day 15. Otaru to Sapporo I tell you, we did our damndest to give Otaru a proper farewell! We hunted out the famed Kitaichi Glass (pretty much my entire reason for wanting to visit Otaru), which wasn’t difficult as it takes up about four buildings in the tourist shopping precinct (which, by the way, puts all other tourist shopping precincts to shame!). Forget everything you know about glass - most of which is touristy knick knackery - Kitaichi is the real deal for stunning contemporary glass work
