Firefighter recruit course

Over the past four weeks, 20 QFES and four Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) personnel spent time at Whyte Island undertaking their Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) category two training. USAR is a skill that operates under the Australia-1 Disaster Assistance Response Team (AUS-1 DART) and is the process of searching a site or collapsed building to locate trapped persons and then bring them to safety.
