Common Snapping Turtles have an incredible bite force that is capable of crushing bones and metal objects. They use this bite force to catch prey and defend themselves from predators. This Common Snapping Turtle (24-2518) was transported to our wildlife hospital after being found in a lethargic state. Ever since I found the snapping turtle nest in my yard I’ve been wanting to get my hands on an adult Snapper, today I had the privilege of rescuing one that had fallen into my troughs.
