Here come the bats! Under the Congress bridge in downtown Austin lives the largest urban bat colony in the world, estimated at 1.5 million bats in the spring, summer and fall. Another colony lives under the McNeil overpass in Round Rock. Every night around dusk, the bats emerge from their colonies to eat tons of insects overnight.
