Did you know birds learn to talk or mimic in what’s called a “heightened state of emotion”?This is why most parrots know how to say hi, bye and curse words… these happen usually out of nowhere - the bird is happily minding its own business when you suddenly enter the room and say hi! 👋 or when you leave and the bird is wondering why the interaction is over and trying to find ways to get your attention back maybe, and you said bye and leave. Or when out of nowhere you stub your toe and scream 😱

On our last version of this, we showed the preferences of our galah, African grey, parrotlet, sun conure and love bird! This time you guys asked for a MACAW version and for us to switch sides. So we decided to do both! Tusa is primarily my husband’s macaw while Comet is more mine but because his bones are formed a bit off (x-rays show them sort of shifted all forward and down) flying is more awkward for him so he rarely chooses to do it. And we all know Jinx is mine… and now Dave knows it too 😆
